NETWORK

A NetWORK refers to a group or system of interconnected things or people. It can be physical, like a computer network, or social, like a network of friends or professional contacts.

NETWORTH

Networth – NetWORTH is a financial term that represents the total value of someone’s assets minus their liabilities. It is essentially a measure of an individual’s or company’s financial wealth.

DEFINE YOUR ASSETS

Have you ever really sat back and thought about what assets do I have, what liabilities do I have? Assets and liabilities do not only have to pertain to your net worth. We have assets and liabilities in our network as well.

 

Assets equal value so think about your everyday life and what people, places or things are an asset to you. We all have people in our life that we know we can count on no matter the situation, that person is an asset. We also have people in our lives that cause nothing but turmoil and confusion, that person is a liability. The people in your life play a factor in the way your life will go. Does your network match the net worth you are trying to gain?

 

This blog is not to deter you from your circle of people. This blog is to simply give light to an old saying “ You are who you’re around.” If you as a person know you want to be an entrepreneur, firefighter, investment banker the list goes on you need to start being in the presence of those types of people. Of course, you have to put in the work and do your research, however, we all learn new things every day and we all need help sometimes. If you hang around everyone who works in retail they have no information to help you become that investment banker. There are many resources to utilize in the field you want to be in.

 

We know sometimes it’s not that people don’t want to put in the work, it’s that they are shy or simply don’t have the resources to start their process.

STEPS TO GREATNESS

  1. Stop being shy! You don’t have to be the loudest person in every room, however, closed mouths don’t get fed.
  2. Make sure people know who you are but in a good way.
  3. Use your resources go on google and look up networking events (virtual & in person) 
  4. Get a mentor
  5. Understand that networking is a two-way street do not just look to gain information and share your knowledge
  6. Utilize social media (understand everything on social media isn’t always correct)

Just remember…you have to put in the WORK to continue to increase your NetWORTH!
